I鈥檓 really inspired by my patients.
Colon cancer is the third most common type of cancer world-wide. In some patients, colon cancer spreads to other parts of the body, such as the liver and lungs. Current treatments include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and targeted therapies. Miriam鈥檚 research focuses on how to better predict whether a treatment will be beneficial to an individual patient. She鈥檚 part of the Dutch Colorectal Cancer Group, which supports large multicenter clinical studies with the aim of improving the quality of diagnosis and treatments for colon cancer.

Brief bio Miriam
Miriam received her MD and PhD from Radboud 木瓜福利影视 Nijmegen and performed her post-doctoral research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, USA. She is currently a professor at the UMC Utrecht, and a principal investigator in the Prospective Dutch CRC cohort (PLCRC).
