	Attend compulsory training	For al PhD candidates of Utrecht ľ�ϸ��Ӱ��, training in education (if applicable) and research integrity is compulsory.
	Arrange your first Annual PhD Progress Meeting	Do this at the end of the first year. This incluses the go/no-go meeting.
	Arrange an Annual PhD Progress Meeting	Arrange the meeting at the end of each consecutive year. You discuss the progress of your research and academic and transferable skill development. Complete the PhD Progress Report form, review your competencies and goals from the TSA, and consult your mentor(s).
	Fill out Completion Plan	One year before the end of your PhD track you fill this out with your supervisors. This is part of your Annual PhD Progress Meeting.
	Review the doctoral thesis requirements	Ensure you are aware of the requirements to be ready for finishing your PhD.

PhD programmes
The GSLS offers 15 thematic PhD programmes, each focused on a specific Life Sciences domain.
PhD training
Completing a PhD involves more than conducting research; it is also a time to develop academic and transferable skills.
Compulsory training
For PhD candidates that have started after 1 September 2020, training in education (if applicable) and research integrity is compulsory.
PhD Course Centre
The PhD Course Centre organises trainings on general skills and competencies of the PhD Competence Model.
Tracking your progress
Tracking your progress throughout your PhD journey is essential to staying on course and completing your degree on time.
Support during your PhD
Every PhD journey is unique, and while it can be demanding, you are not alone. Your mental health is our priority, and it's normal to experience a mix of success and challenges.
Finishing your PhD
Completing your PhD is a moment to celebrate! The PhD defence ceremonies are held in the ľ�ϸ��Ӱ�� Hall in central Utrecht.
Events
Three annual events are organised at the GSLS PhD. Two by the PhD Council and one by the PhD Team.
