Karin Ito
Hi, I’m Karin, and I’m excited to be a Playground ambassador! For me, Playground has been a safe and inspiring space to share ideas, experiment with projects, and step out of my comfort zone. It’s also where I’ve had the chance to connect with like-minded people who share my passion for entrepreneurship and personal growth. As an ambassador, I hope to give back to this community and bring the same warmth and enthusiasm to others. I’ll also be writing blog posts about my journey—sharing experiences, reflections, and lessons learned along the way.
My background is rooted in sustainability and entrepreneurship. I’m currently doing a Master’s in Sustainable Development (Energy and Materials) at the Faculty of Geosciences, after completing my Bachelor’s in Global Sustainability Science. Next to my studies, I manage branding and marketing for , a social enterprise empowering refugee children through colorful socks — a project I first joined through . Being part of the entrepreneurial community has allowed me to combine my academic interests with hands-on experience, deepening my knowledge of sustainability and data management while exploring new areas such as inclusive leadership and team-building.
On a more personal note, I’m a big foodie who loves traveling, playing sports, and having meaningful conversations. Fun fact: I keep a massive Google Maps list of restaurants worldwide — so you know who to come to for recommendations!
If you’d like to chat about combining studies with entrepreneurship and personal development — or just want a casual conversation — feel free to reach out on or catch me at the Playground!
