An international team of researchers from Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ, Deltares, and NIOZ, among others, devised a new method to calculate when we can expect a certain increase in flood probability in a specific area.

They buttress land ice that will flow faster into the ocean as a result of their breaking up, which causes faster sea level rise.

Saturation of firn will dramatically increase global sea level rise, adding about 9 mm a year from the Greenland ice sheet alone.

Professor Roderik van de Wal from Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ who led the research, says: "I assume that these findings will be incorporated in the next IPCC report."
