Taking a cargo bike packed with science into the neighbourhood

Wow, can I touch this? I have never held anything in my hand from a museum before!

Staff members of the UMU (Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Museum) visit various neighbourhoods in Utrecht with a cargo bike loaded with research activities. The aim is to give children an inspiring and enjoyable experience with science and thereby reduce the perceived distance between them and science. Last summer, 鈥榋oek het uit! On Tour', reached 260 children at ten neighbourhood events in Utrecht neighbourhoods such as Overvecht, Leidsche Rijn and Lunetten. This programme enables us to reach children who do not (yet) know what a university is. A follow-up will take place in the summer of 2025.

The children were just so curious!
