At Studium Generale, researchers, students and other curious people meet in search of new questions, answers and perspectives. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. In this way, Studium Generale contributes to the public value of science and the broad education of people inside and outside Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ.

The social debate is hardening. You see it in the House of Representatives, on social media and in the living room. Three-quarters of the Dutch are worried about polarization. How do scientists and program makers move in this social minefield?

Studium Generale Know Yourself Challenge
In 2022, the theme was "mental health. Participants could explore how they deal with pressure and stress, whether they can influence their well-being by dancing or meditating, and how they give meaning to their lives. There were also three talk shows in which the scientists behind the challenge engaged in live conversation with each other and the audience.

Utrecht Day of Philosophy
At Studium Generale's Utrecht Day of Philosophy, the public and philosophers examined the world around us. Visitors could listen to high-profile philosophers, explore their own moral boundaries or join a philosophical speed date.

Studium Generale challenge
In het najaar van 2021 organiseerde Studium Generale ‘de Groene Challenge’. Gedurende de maand november konden deelnemers elke dag online een deurtje openmaken. Achter elke deur: een duurzame uitdaging!
