Betweter Festival
The Betweter Festival at TivoliVredenburg is for everyone who wants to know how the world works, is not afraid of new experiences and likes to be amazed. Researchers, artists and visitors meet in a casual festival setting, and reflect together on tomorrow's world and today's big questions. With surprising scientific stories, music, live experiments, art and film.
The Betweter Festival is organized by Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 together with UMC Utrecht, Utrecht School of the Arts, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 of Applied Sciences and the 木瓜福利影视 of Humanistics. And collaborates with TivoliVredenburg, SETUP, BNR and Centre for Unusual Collaborations. The festival is the opening event of the Utrecht Science Week.

What happened before
Researchers don't seem to turn their hand to it: standing in front of packed halls at a festival or in front of a class at an elementary school. What training and support do they receive before taking the stage?

Working together by going down unexpected paths
The 2021 Betweter Festival focused on the research around chronic pain by Hanneke Willemen and colleagues (CUCo).

Collaborating for a more inclusive audience
For the Betweter Festival, the Center for Science and Culltur worked with community partners to invite Utrechters for whom science activities are not obvious.

Event Academy students collaborate on Betweter Festival
The students helped behind the scenes at the Betweter Festival and the Weekend of Science, gaining hands-on experience.
