Research in Sustainability
Our aim is to develop a series of research projects that will contribute to a scientific basis for transitioning to sustainability within the pharmaceutical sciences.
The Pillar for Research in Sustainability in Pharmaceutical Sciences is dedicated to creating novel scientific insights and data to bolster our collaborative efforts with other pillars, towards a greener and more sustainable future for pharmaceutical sciences.
Small steps, big impact 鈥 join us on the path to sustainability.
Biotech projects:
The Green Team PS is partnering with the Biotechnology Student Research Hub aiming at developing a series of research projects that will contribute to a scientific basis for transitioning to more sustainable practices within UU laboratories.
This Hub accommodates bachelor students from P1 to P4 working on different scientific projects that also enable testing of greener materials, reagents, or protocols in a controlled manner.
These student projects are a great opportunity to generate valuable data supporting sustainable lab practices, while cultivating a greener mindset of future scientists.
Are you interested in testing your 鈥済reen project鈥 or have suggestions that could potentially make an already established protocol/practice more sustainable and need to scientifically validate it? Please contact Sabrina Oliveira (Biotech Hub coordinator) and Katerina Xenaki (Green Team PS) to consider possible options.
Interdisciplinary projects:
The Green Team PS is collaborating with students from several courses at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, such as 鈥渟quaring the circular economy鈥 and 鈥渆nvironmental communication鈥 by providing real-life case studies for their research assignments. In this way, the students are generating valuable theoretical knowledge to be then implemented within the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department.
