Green Disc

In modern research, there is a lot of use of computers and long-term storage of data. This results in environmental impacts related to obtaining and storing this data. Therefore, this is a non-wet-lab area of research that could benefit from more sustainable practices. Green DiSC is an open-access certification scheme that helps to track the energy impact of these processes and thus provides insights into areas to reduce the associated environmental impact. Every department is involved via a representative for the data storage. Together, we work towards certification by aligning the in-house infrastructures and policies. Thereby, we hope to reduce the environmental impacts and create more streamlined and effective storage and use of collected research data.
