Renovation Achter Sint Pieter 200

The complex on Achter Sint Pieter 200 (ASP200) in the centre of Utrecht was used until 2018 by the Law Faculty of the REBO faculty. After the renovation and refurbishment, Law Faculty employees will move from the interim accommodation at Newtonlaan to the renovated and modern university building ASP200.

Goal

The university building ASP200 is located in the heart of the building cluster of the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 in the historical inner city. It thus contributes to the visibility of the UU in the city. After renovation, ASP200 will be a sustainable and future-proof university building.  

Its central location stimulates the shared use of the new restaurant and other facilities. In this way the university makes efficient use of the available space in the city centre. Working together and meeting people are central to ASP200. The office concept is in keeping with this and therefore fits in with Utrecht 木瓜福利影视's long-term ambitions.

More information 

A new entrance area will be realized in ASP200. On the courtyard side, the 1960s-filled link between ASP200 and the office wing will be replaced by a new glass intermediate section. This will create a clearer layout of the building with improved walking routes between different parts.

The work floors are being redesigned with a clear separation between concentrated work and meeting. For example, new anchor points have been created centrally on the floors with a pantry, repro and meeting facilities.

The Council Chamber will be restored and refurbished for meetings with large groups and for executive education.  A new multifunctional restaurant will be built directly under the council chamber. This new 'living room' of the building can also be used outside lunchtime as a workplace and meeting space.  

Within the design team, much integral attention was given to the elaboration of the sustainability and the integration of technology in the various parts of the building. With these interventions, the ambition to improve the comfort and individual controllability is realised.  

Planning 

The construction period is two years and started in 2021. After the completion, employees of Law will move from the interim housing at the Newtonlaan to the renovated and modern university building ASP200.
