Becoming a cancer researcher

Ever since growing up in Vietnam, My Anh Truong has had a dream; she wants to become a professional cancer researcher. Thanks to an Utrecht Excellence Scholarship, she studies in Utrecht. 鈥淢y passion is about the microscopic working of the cell. It鈥檚 magical and mysterious at the same time鈥.

My Anh鈥檚 scholarship was financed by alumna Ali Miedema through the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Fund.

A shared passion for molecular biology

My Anh and mrs. Miedema connected instantly. They both love listening to piano music, going to piano recitals and they share a passion for biology. 鈥淎lthough we are generations apart, we actually have a lot in common. Ali studied biology when Francis Crick and James Watson discovered the structure of DNA. That was the beginning of a new era of molecular biology, which is what I鈥檓 studying today鈥.

Utrecht Excellence Scholarship

For many outstanding students outside of Europe, studying at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 is not financially viable. Especially for them, the 木瓜福利影视 created the Utrecht Excellence Scholarships. Thanks to the support of alumni, many grants and scholarships have been awarded since 2007.
