How long can you wait for an e-mail reply?

Many people use email for work. This is convenient, but also a source of stress. Email can constantly distract you from other work and interfere with your free time. And that while in many sectors, such as health care, the workload is already so high. Researchers at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 have devised and tested a number of simple solutions with health care workers. A few adjustments can change a lot, they say, and that need not be at the expense of autonomy. One of the solutions is to only send e-mails to one person, instead of including everyone in the CC.

This is part of the extensive program of the Utrecht Science Week. Also recommended: Prof. Dr. Bert Weckhuysen's lecture on the latest developments in sustainable living on Friday, Oct. 6. The unexpected sources of innovation

'If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I'll do it myself' said Josephine Cochran, who invented the dishwasher because she wanted to protect her china from rough dishwashers. It was exactly this kind of "unexpected sources of innovation" that Max Mulhuijzen researched. Recent examples show how important the role of citizens is as a source of innovation. According to Mulhuijzen, this needs more attention and support. Mulhuijzen received his doctorate from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 on July 7, 2023. Among other things, he conducted research on the means and motivations that lead to the development and dissemination of innovations by citizens.
