I completed my BSc in Marketing, Innovation and Technology in Ireland and knew I wanted to travel and develop further skills in sustainability, so this CHARM-EU masters was the perfect choice for me. I was particularly interested in its unique hybrid format and its emphasis on collaborative development. My journey began in Budapest for the first phase, where I gained valuable insights into the city's culture and a broad introduction to sustainability. The second phase took me to Montpellier, where I specialised in Food and deepened my knowledge on sustainable food systems. Finally, I will complete my Capstone phase with a project set in Barcelona, gaining further exposure to real sustainability challenges and stakeholders. The programme's transdisciplinary approach allowed me to explore sustainability from a holistic perspective, and its unique setting and assessment methods fostered peer-to-peer learning that has proven to be invaluable.

Coming from Latvia and having completed my Bachelor's in the Netherlands with an Erasmus exchange in Spain, I have developed a passion for international experiences, cultural diversity, and worldview enrichment. My background in environmental biology made me aware of the alarming pressures of contemporary food production practices on planetary boundaries. This experience pushed me towards choosing the program鈥檚 food track. Looking back, this choice has reshaped my perspective on innovative food production methods, sustainable distribution solutions, and the vital role of community involvement in revolutionising our food systems.
