Extracurricular opportunities

Would you like an extra challenge alongside the Bachelor programme? You can participate in the programme's honours track or one of the university-wide honours programmes. You can also combine your studies with Mathematics.

Honours programme Economics and Business Economics

The is a two-and-a-half year programme within the Bachelor Economics and Business Economics. In the first part of the programme, you will attend honours specific variants of the compulsory courses. Next to the coursework, you will develop yourself by initiating and actively participating in various extracurricular activities. This includes activities like organizing a congress, a debate, a field trip, or helping people with a distance to the labor market. In the second part, you take special honours-level elective courses with students from other programmes. You complete the programme by writing an honours thesis. The honours programme begins in the second semester of the first year. The application and selection procedure takes place in November.

The honours components and courses were intellectually stimulating, exposing me to a wide range of theoretical knowledge and equipping me with a strong foundation for my future career.

Double Bachelor in Economics and Mathematics

In Utrecht, you can combine the programmes in Economics and Business Economics with Mathematics in a double degree. You will take courses from both programmes, supplemented with specially designed combined modules. These integrate the analytical skills of Mathematics with the economic knowledge and innovative power of Economics and Business Economics. All courses are designed to complement each other seamlessly, allowing you to earn both degrees in 3 years. 

Note: This programme is only suitable for Dutch-speaking students, as the Mathematics courses are offered solely in Dutch.
