Urban Geography

Meghan is a PhD candidate in Human Geography and Spatial Planning (SGPL). Her research investigates platform real estate through qualitative methods, with a focus on Amsterdam. The project works to understand connections between lived housing experiences, housing markets, and the digital technologies and space. This project spans two sections in the SGPL, Urban Geography and Spatial Planning, and is supervised by Dr. Daan Bossuyt, Dr. Carl Bonner-Thompson, and Prof. Dr. Edwin Buitelaar

Meghan completed her MSc Urban Geography at the Universiteit van Amsterdam in 2023. There, her research delved into housing precarity as experienced by genderqueer and nonbinary young adults in Amsterdam (). Meghan is from Vancouver, Canada, and completed her Bachelor of Arts (2020) in Geography (concentration: Environment & Sustainability) at the 木瓜福利影视 of Victoria (UVic).
