Expertise
We strongly believe in applied science in which real-world ethical and policy problems are being assessed and new policy solutions developed and evaluated.
The Centre holds three chairs:
- The Chair Pharmacy and Global Health (Farmacie en internationaal gezondheidsbeleid) by Aukje Mantel-Teeuwisse.
- The Chair Health Technology Assessment of Pharmaceuticals by Wim Goettsch.
- The Chair Drug Regulatory Science (Geneesmiddelenbeleid en -regulering) by Marieke De Bruin.
We have globally renown expertise in pharmaceutical policy analysis, the development of applied methods for decision-making as well as in impact / performance analysis. This expertise is being applied along the drug life cycle. Additionally, we have strong ties to various national and international agencies, networks and collaborations.
The use of real-world evidence/data is key in all our research and spans from data from clinical trials and claims data, to the reports of side effects (VigiBase). Moreover, we have extensive experience with policy documents such as European public assessment reports (EPARs), and analysing data related to the pricing, affordability, and availability of medicines.
Our research questions tackle pressing topics along the drug life cycle as displayed in Figure 1.
