Introduction on prof. dr. Mirko Noordegraaf
Mirko Noordegraaf is full professor of Public Management at the Utrecht School of Governance (USG), Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. He is chair of the executive Board of USG, and chair of the Public Governance & Management (PGM) faculty.
Because of his function as chair of the Public Governance & Management faculty, one of Mirko's current main research themes is Professional Performance. By doing research about professionalism, he wants to take part in the (inter)national debate about professionals and their performance in (semi-)public organisations. In his researches he tries to find out how professionals can be empowered to deal with emerging challenges. Not only is he committed to professionalism theoretically, but also practically. He is, in his role of professor, a professional himself. Besides that he is chair of the executive Board of USG, which implies that he has to lead professionals. This tension, between being a professional as well as being a leader of professionals, makes him even more interested in this focus area.
