AIBIA 2025 – TivoliVredenburg Utrecht
The second edition of the Artificial Intelligence for Bio-oriented Imaging Analysis (AIBIA) Conference took place on May 6, 2025, at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Researchers from across disciplines came together to share advances in applying AI to life sciences imaging, ranging from microscopy in fundamental biology to medical imaging in clinical practice. The day featured inspiring keynotes, parallel sessions, and poster presentations, fostering lively discussions and new collaborations within the Utrecht campus community and beyond.
AIBIA 2024 – Jaarbeurs Utrecht
The first edition of the Artificial Intelligence for Bio-oriented Imaging Analysis (AIBIA) Conference took place on May 15, 2024, at Jaarbeurs Utrecht. The first edition brought together researchers in life sciences imaging to share insights and explore how AI can be applied in both medical and biological contexts. Highlights included keynotes by Clarisa Sánchez (ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Amsterdam) on advances in medical image analysis and Martin Weigert (EPFL) on computational microscopy. With engaging parallel sessions, poster presentations, and lively discussions, the conference laid the foundation for a strong interdisciplinary community at the intersection of AI and imaging science.
Utrecht Science Week
During the Utrecht Science Week (September 27 – October 6, 2024), the event Ziekenhuis van de Toekomst was held on Tuesday, October 1, offering a compelling glimpse into the hospital of tomorrow. Organized by UMC Utrecht, this public showcase featured impressive presentations and demonstrations of cutting-edge cellular techniques aimed at accelerating healing and recovery.
Utrecht Science Week: Ziekenhuis van de Toekomst
During the Utrecht Science Week 2023 (September 29 – October 8, 2023), the "Hospital of the Future" was a standout public event hosted at UMC Utrecht. It offered visitors an insightful look into future healthcare innovations, where cutting-edge medical technologies and regenerative medicine converged to shed light on tomorrow’s treatment paradigms. Demonstrations of our board members, Dennis Klomp, Jeroen Siero, and Jelle Ruurda on silent and fast MRI, and the innovative possibilities of robotic surgery and augmented reality .
