For whom is the Escape Room intended?

This Escape Room is specially designed for teachers at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ who are going to work with the new LMS Brightspace.

Why should I play this Escape Room?

This Escape Room is perfect for you if you want to get to know Brightspace as a teacher. If you already have some experience with Brightspace, it is still possible to play this Escape Room. In the Escape Room, several aspects of Brightspace will appear in playful ways that are interesting to experience as a teacher.

How many participants can join?

Illuminate is suitable for 4 to 5 people. With less than 4 people, the Escape Room cannot take place. Participation is free, but not optional. Should you drop out, please arrange your own replacement. We will be happy to hear who the replacement participant is. 

You register individually for the Escape Room, it is not possible to register as a team. Of course, you can discuss with colleagues for which time slot you each register yourself at. 

Will I be locked up in this Escape Room?

In Illuminate you are not locked up. You can always leave the room.

Is this Escape Room scary?

This Escape Room is not designed to be scary and does not contain any horror elements or jump scares. The escape room starts in a half-darkened room. This can feel a bit scary for some people.

How long will it take?

The Escape Room itself takes 60 minutes, or shorter of course, if you complete the mission faster. The debriefing takes 30 minutes. Keep in mind, including introduction time and break, the total time investment will take about 2 hours. 

What is the location of the Escape Room?

We have permanent rooms in the Martinus G. de Bruin building and one room in Janskerkhof 15a. You can choose yourself which location is most convenient for you. 

I am unable to attend

Participation in the Escape Room is free, but not without obligation. Of course, it is always possible that you are unexpectedly unable to attend. You can e-mail us up to a week in advance to let us know if you are unable to attend via illuminate@uu.nl. 

If you cannot make it last-minute (less than 7 days before the Escape Room), we would like to ask you to arrange a replacement yourself. Send an email to illuminate@uu.nl with the name and email address of the substitute participant. Without a replacement, the other players will not be able to play the escape room. 

I want to join at a different date

You can email us up to a week in advance with a request for a different play date. To do so, send an e-mail to illuminate@uu.nl with your name, the (new) date, the (desired) time and the location.

In which language is the Escape Room available to play?

The Escape Room is available in English and Dutch. The registration form will indicate the language of the Escape Room. You can choose which language you prefer. 

Accessibility

We have permanent rooms in the Martinus G. de Bruin building and a room in Janskerkhof 15a. These locations are easily accessible by bicycle and public transport. 

Unfortunately, Janskerkhof 15a is not suitable for people with mobility problems. There is no elevator in the building. You are welcome to join the Escape Room at the Utrecht Science Park. This room is located on the ground floor.
