The Faculty Club of ... board member Paul Stamsnijder
In this section, our members tell us a little about themselves and why they joined the Faculty Club. Drs. Paul Stamsnijder is an alumnus of Dutch Language and Literature.
On 10 June 2025, Paul Stamsnijder joined the board of the Faculty Club. Paul studied Dutch Language and Literature at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and has since become an authority in the field of reputation and communication.
As founder of the Reputation Group – an agency for social dialogue – author of several books on communication and board member of the Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Fund, he has deep ties to the world of public-private partnerships and to his alma mater.
What motivates him to join the board of the Faculty Club?
The Faculty Club is a hidden gem in the heart of Utrecht. It is a place where generations meet – alumni, lecturers, researchers, administrators – and where conversations that matter take place. As an alumnus, I know how valuable it is to have a place where you can reminisce and make new connections.
If you have a soft spot for the university, the Faculty Club is the perfect place to show it. Come and visit – and bring someone along.
The Faculty Club was founded in 1998 as a meeting place for everyone connected to Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ. Its founders gave the Club its special, distinctive character: a place for meeting, deepening knowledge and relaxation – right in the historic heart of the city.
For me, the Faculty Club embodies exactly what suits an internationally oriented university: an open and inviting space where generations and disciplines meet naturally. A place like this not only makes the university more vibrant, but also strengthens the sense of connection and community. That is why it is important to continue investing in this academic living room of Utrecht.
In my role as board member, I would like to contribute to strengthening the connection between alumni and the university – whether it's lunch in the sun-drenched garden, a lecture or a good conversation with a former fellow student.
His message to other alumni?
If you have a soft spot for the university, the Faculty Club is the perfect place to show it. Come and visit – and bring someone with you.
