Are you a student and are you looking for funding to study abroad or for a project of your association? Or are you an employee of our university and can you use help in raising funds for a university or research project? The Utrecht ľ�ϸ��Ӱ�� Fund provides grants and gives advice. Our fundraisers can also assist in fundraising other than through regular academic cash flows.

About applying

The Utrecht ľ�ϸ��Ӱ�� Fund has a where students, alumni and employees can file a funding request for subsidies. Throughout the year there are 8 rounds in which different types of funding programs can be applied for.

Currently, it is not yet possible to apply for grants from all our Named Funds through the funding request portal. Check the to see which funds are participating in which round(s). More information per Named Fund.

This depends on whether you are a student or researcher and to which fund and category you want to apply for a grant. Check the to find out when you can apply for your specific grant.

No, you can only submit one application per round.

Under ‘Funding Programs’ you can choose the funding program that you would like to apply for. Keep the start- and end date of the program in mind, this is the final deadline of handing in your request;
Click the funding program of your choosing and click ‘apply’. If you are using the portal for the first time, an account will be created for you;
You will receive an automatic email (also check your spam folder) where you can set a password for the portal;
After this you can login with your password and go to ‘my applications’. Here you can find your initial funding request and continue your application.

You can only create an account by submitting an application. When creating an application, you first enter your email address. If the email address is recognised, you will be asked to log in. If the email address is not already known, an account will automatically be created for you and you will receive an email to set your password. After that, you can log in and complete your application further.

Please note: the account for the portal is separate from your solisID and the other environments within which you log in to the university! So you're creating a new password for the email address you choose to use for the portal.

Yes this is possible. The portal is open two to four weeks before the deadline, during which time you have time to complete your application. You can log into the portal again at a later time, you will find your application under the heading ‘My Applications’.

Yes you can, this is no problem.

We aim to inform you within 3 weeks of the closing of the application round. This can sometimes take longer because of the various approval steps in the process. For example, the application is then on ‘in review BAC’ status for a bit longer because the committee has not yet been able to meet. You will receive an automatic e-mail as soon as your application moves to the next approval step.

Log into the portal and navigate to ‘My Applications’. There you will find the status of your application. The possible statuses are:

in progress (you have not yet submitted your application)
submitted (you have submitted your application)
in review UU (we are checking whether your application is complete)
in review BAC (your application has been submitted for approval to the Spending Advisory Committee (BAC))
in review DU (your application has been approved by the Director of the ľ�ϸ��Ӱ�� Fund)
awarded (your application has been granted, scroll down to see which requirements you still need to meet to receive the money)
rejected (your application has been rejected)
fully disbursed (your application has been fully disbursed)
funding program closed (your application was not submitted before the deadline and was automatically cancelled)

Use the ‘reset password’ option on the portal login screen. You will receive an e-mail (also check your spam folder). Note: do not click the link directly, but copy the link and paste it into the browser. You can then set a new password and log in.
