The third Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference
The third Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference will take place on Thursday the 4th of March. The conference aims to provide a platform for disseminating improvements in teaching and learning in Higher Education in an open, inspiring and stimulating atmosphere. Are you willing to improve your education and learn from others? Join us on the 4th of March 2021 and send in an abstract for a poster!
This conference provides plenty of opportunities to debate and reflect on teaching and learning methods in Higher Education. In addition, academic teachers from all disciplines can present studies of their scholarly approaches to teaching innovations.
Call for posters
We kindly invite teachers to submit an abstract. Teachers of selected abstracts will be asked to make a poster as well as a short video (2-3 minutes). Both the poster and the short video have to be handed in three weeks before the conference and will be presented in an online environment. Participants have the opportunity to watch the posters and video pitches prior to the conference. During the conference there will be room for questions and discussion.
The abstract will be assessed according to what degree it:
- aims at improved teaching and student learning (in a specific or in a wide sense).
- uses a systematic, evidence-based approach, i.e.:
- it builds on and makes use of relevant literature and theory;
- it describes methods used for investigating teaching and student learning or teaching approaches (related to the discipline) in general;
- it provides a clear description of the results and the conclusions that can be drawn from the results.
- has a clear focus and structure.
Deadline: Due to the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and busy schedules, the submission deadline for the abstracts for the SoTL-conference has been extended until 11 January 2020.
