Six researchers receive NWO grant for pioneering research

Six researchers from the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences in Utrecht have been awarded a grant in the NWO . With these grants, NWO enables researchers to carry out research into a theme of their own choice, without any thematic constraints. The selected research projects cover a broad range of topics, from low literacy to the popularity status of young people.

The six researchers from the faculty who have been awarded the grant are Emmeke Aarts, Hans Marien, Katharina Meitinger, Amy Nivette, Margot Peeters and Gerko Vink. NWO stresses that the awarded grants are intended for curiosity-driven, pioneering research. On its website, NWO states that the research must be groundbreaking in nature, and that before starting it is not clear whether the intended goals can be achieved. What matters is that each project contributes to existing or new scientific insights. Each grant is worth a maximum of 50,000 euros.
