Meet the new programme coordinator of U-Collaborate in Education

Since the end of 2022, Fleur Stigter is the new programme coordinator of U-Collaborate in Education (UCE). As programme coordinator, she takes over the role of former programme manager Sabine Uijl, one of the two initiators of the programme. Fleur works closely with Jan Haarhuis.

Who is Fleur Stigter?

With this new role, I am making the transition from the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Library, where I have worked on a variety of files for the past six years. I was also seconded for just under two years to Dynamics of Youth, one of the four strategic themes of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, in the role of impact developer.

Coming from a marketing background, I increasingly focused on business development and internal process improvements during my time at the UB. Wherever I work, I always like to understand the reason behind choices and think not only from the needs of the organisation, but especially from the perspective of the customer or end user.

Before my appointment at the UB, I worked at various (non)profit organisations, including European cultural heritage platform 'Europeana', Sdu Publishers and Accucoms.

At U-Collaborate in Education, I get to further shape the programme. As far as possible, I follow the Rotterdam approach of 'cleaning, not talking'. What is needed and what can we do to support teachers and educational organisations in organising education with external partners? In that context, I am also working on the further development of Masterchallenge - a matching app (say 'marketplace') for teachers and external partners. If you want to hear more about this, let me know especially. Very happy to engage with users from within UU as well as external stakeholders.

Are you curious about what the U-Collaborate in Education programme is doing? On our website, you will find great examples of collaborative initiatives in education.

For example, a challenge in which 37 students, in multidisciplinary teams, worked on ideas to find alternatives to animal testing in research and education. This was at the request of the challenger . The roadmap developed from this challenge, a test animal-free model to replace tests on rabbits, will become an example for other test animal-free methods.
