Coen Teulings

Prof. Coen Teulings has been appointed distinguished professor at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ with effect from 1 January 2018. He is currently professor of Economics at Cambridge.

As a distinguished professor, Teulings will be joining a select group of professors at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ â€“ scholars and scientists whose work and standing transcend national and disciplinary boundaries. Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ is excited to be welcoming him on board. According to Bert van der Zwaan, UU's Rector Magnificus, 'One of our key focus areas is interdisciplinary research on institutions; on the laws, practices and organisations that shape the dynamics of our society. Coen Teulings is a brilliant addition to our team.'

Ambition

In addition to his ongoing research on the labour market and urban economies, Teulings plans to zoom in over the coming years on cross-links between economics and insights from other disciplines, such as biology, law, political science, history and geography. This research will be based at the UU's Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance. Says Teulings, 'I've been impressed with the quality and ambition evident in Utrecht in recent years and I have high expectations of my collaboration with scientists in other disciplines, which will be vital to the research and teaching I plan to pursue.'

Cambridge

Coen Teulings (b. 1958) studied economics at the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Amsterdam. Currently he holds posts as professor of Economics at Cambridge ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and part-time professor at the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Amsterdam.
