5 October 2021 is Diversity Day
Today, on Diversity Day, we celebrate the first anniversary of the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) programme. Last year on this day we launched our four-year Strategy and Action Plan (2021-2025). The plan includes various types of action for increasing diversity and inclusion at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, running from awareness raising to monitoring and data. What the five main goals have in common is the central aim to make all employees and students feel welcome and valued at our university.
A lot has happened since the launch. The programme for the present Diversity Month shows a part of the many activities and initiatives going on at the university. Inclusive education figures prominently in the workshops, while we also celebrate Coming Out Day and join hands with other offices and programmes in the Week of Accessibility and the Safety Week. And as we talk, we are already planning for our next hub of activities next March, which will include the annual celebration of International Women鈥檚 Day, but also activities focusing on accessibility of the university for students and employees with disabilities.
Back to the present. As Diversity Dean, I wish you a very good Diversity Day today and an inspiring Diversity Month of October. We hope you to join our activities. For a deeper look at the broad scope of diversity and inclusion, please visit our website to find out what kind of research and research networks in the field of diversity there are. Read the interviews with researchers and, last but not least, see what our students and employees have to say about diversity on the page We belong @UU.
