Core lecturers of our programme include:
- Prof dr Dina Siegel researches various forms of organised crime. She has published on the Russian mafia, trafficking in women, drug smuggling, terrorism, and crime in diamond industries.
- Prof dr Daan van Uhm is Associate Professor of Criminology, specialising in Green Criminology (Utrecht 木瓜福利影视) and Professor of Environmental Crime (Open 木瓜福利影视). Daan van Uhm has conducted research on various forms of environmental crime, including illegal mining in Latin America, wildlife trafficking in Southeast Asia, deforestation in Central Africa, and the criminalization of ecocide.
- Dr Richard Alexander is an assistant professor in the Willem Pompe Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at the 木瓜福利影视 of Utrecht, holding a Bachelor in Criminology from Manchester Metropolitan 木瓜福利影视 (cum laude), an MA in Global Criminology from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 (cum laude), and an MA in Social Research Methods from the 木瓜福利影视 of Kent (cum laude).
- Dr Eric Cano Cobano research lies at the intersection of criminology and visual culture. Cobano examines the complex interplay between images, crime, and control, particularly how film and other media depict harm, punishment, and marginality, and how these portrayals influence broader cultural understandings and societal responses.
- Dr Vasileios Gerasopoulos is assistant professor in the Willem Pompe Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology. He has participated and coordinated teaching projects regarding the dominant representations of crime, migration, sexuality and gender as well as the intersection between criminology and queer studies.
- Dr Anna Laskai is an Assistant Professor of Criminology at the Willem Pompe Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Anna's research focusses on healthcare and criminality, organizational, corporate and white collar crime, corruption, fraud and money-laundering (CAMS).
- Dr Veronika Nagy is an Assistant Professor in Criminology at the Law department of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Her research interest includes surveillance, digital inequality with a focus on the connection between mobility and technology, criminalisation and digital self-censorship.
- Dr Brenda Oude Breuil is Assistant Professor in Criminology (since 2009) she teaches (among others) Cultural Criminology in the MA Programme Global Criminology. She participates in the research schools Utrecht Centre for European Research into Family Law (UCERF) and Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (RENFORCE), and is a fellow at the Utrecht Centre for Global Challenges (UGlobe) where she participates in the flagship Contesting Governance.
- Dr Damian Zaitch has researched and published on social control and terrorism, police cooperation in Europe, critical criminology, and for the past 15 years on organised crime, drug trafficking and drug policies in the Netherlands and Latin America.
