Year 1

In your first year, the emphasis is on developing general theoretical knowledge of education and learning, and on integrating theories from the theoretical courses with methods from the methodology and statistics courses in assignments. You will engage in theory courses on learning, neuroscience, teaching, and individual differences in learning. You will also follow two courses in advanced statistics and two 'Integrative Practicals' in which the integration of theory and methods is supported.

Year 2

In your second year, the emphasis is on applying theoretical and research skills, and in conducting research in the field of education and learning. You will follow one theory course on learning in a digital world, two electives that you tailor to your own learning needs, and two research seminars. In your elective space, you can do a research internship in the Netherlands or abroad, a clinical internship to complete the clinical track, engage with additional courses, and/or collect (additional) data for your Master鈥檚 thesis. You complete the programme with writing your Master鈥檚 thesis.

Below, you will find an overview of courses from the current academic year of this Master's. This overview is meant to give you an idea of what to expect. The course offer may change in the coming academic year.

During the Master鈥檚 I did an internship assisting in the inTin research project. I also did a research internship in a different UU team, were I assisted in the analytical coding phase of a literature review.
