Transparency of civil society organisations
Prof dr Tom Zwart (International and European Law) gave his opinion on Sargasso about the new Dutch law ‘Transparantie van maatschappelijke organisaties’.
The law obliges civil society organisations to make donations of €15,000+ public. In this way, minister Dekker wants to prevent organisations from becoming dependent on one particular lender, who thereby has a say in the course of the organisation. That would be particularly problematic if the organisation would be seduced into behavior that violates the Dutch constitutional state.
