CCAN's Classy Salon #2: First-Gen Student Experiences and Student Support

We are excited to invite you to the second edition of the Class-Conscious Academics Network's Classy Salon!

Classy talks: The event will focus on first-generation and working-class students' experiences of obstacles and support at university, through the lens of research and support initiatives by students.

Classless drinks: Afterwards, everyone is invited to stay and meet fellow first-gen and working-class students and academics over a drink (first drink offered by the EDI-Office)!

When: Thursday March 10, 16:00-18:00h.

Presentations on the findings of two theses on first-generation and working-class students in the Netherlands and Germany and their experiences of financial and cultural obstacles, discrimination, and growing self-confidence. Open Q&A, moderated by Jeroen Rijnders.

A panel discussion with two coordinators of student-led initiatives that support first-generation and working-class students, reflecting on their experiences, the needs of students, and further opportunities for the UU to support these students. Moderation by Nina K枚ll.
