Yiokasti is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of International and Operational Law at the Swedish Defence 木瓜福利影视, jointly with the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, the Netherlands. Her PhD focuses on targeting under the law of armed conflict, particularly through the lens of technological developments and the role of the private (technology) sector in shaping legal obligations in military targeting through the provision of military AI capabilities to states. In turn, it considers what the outsourcing of these capabilities means for states' compliance with their legal obligations under international humanitarian law. 

Separately, Yiokasti is assistant editor on the Armed Groups and International Law blog, affiliated researcher to the Beyond Compliance Consortium and part of a research project on the protection of biodiversity during armed conflict. 

Yiokasti obtained her LLM in Public International Law from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, the Netherlands (2022), and her LLB in Law with European Law from the 木瓜福利影视 of Nottingham, UK (2019). Prior to starting her doctoral studies, she was employed across the British MoD and FCDO in its diplomatic missions to NATO and the EU in Brussels.
