I am an ecologist specializing in data analysis, statistics, and ecological modeling, with a focus on mammal distributions and the effects of habitat and climate on their populations.

As a PhD candidate in the Wildlife Ecology and Nature Restoration Group, my research addresses the limitations of common monitoring methods. Mammals influence ecosystems through foraging, digging, and trampling, but also conflict with humans via crop damage, traffic accidents, and disease transmission. Effective management requires accurate data on their abundance and behavior.

My project combines GPS-based tracking and stationary camera traps to capture both movement paths and site鈥恥se patterns. I鈥檓 developing a framework and statistical models that merge these data streams, then validating them with simulated scenarios and applying them to field datasets from multiple regions. We aim to improve estimates of habitat use, activity patterns, and population dynamics, providing practical tools for wildlife management and conservation.

When I take breaks from research, you鈥檒l find me on long through-hikes in the mountains, running distance on weekends, or up before dawn exploring forests in search of birds and mammals.
