Elizabeth Uduwa vidanalage is a PhD candidate at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视's department of Clinical Psychology as of January 2022. She works on a joint doctorate program with the KU Leuven. The overall goal of the project is to investigate the use of virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) in socially anxious adolescents and underlying mechanisms of VRET. First, the efficacy of VRET in socially anxious adolescents will be investigated in an randomized controlled trial. Additionally, three candidate mechanisms will be examined in a series of controlled studies. Various studies are planned, of which some will be conducted at the KU Leuven (partner institution). She is supervised by dr. Katharina Meyerbröker and prof. dr. Iris Engelhard.

 

Elizabeth obtained her Research Master's degree in Psychology (2018), with a major in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Brain & Cognition, at the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam. Upon completion, she worked as a research assistant for an EU-funded HORIZON 2020 research project and helped create mental health tools and initiatives at a multinational company's health department.
