Since 1 May 2022 I have been working at the Faculty of Geosciences as a policy officer for teacher professionalisation. In that role I am involved in projects such as:
- Fostering Educational Scholarship: In the coming years, we aim to normalize a more research-oriented approach to education within Geosciences. To lay the foundation for this initiative, the procedure for the faculty component of the has been improved. This ensures that our educational innovation projects are more robustly supported, with a greater focus on evaluating and disseminating their outcomes.
- The Rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence: Across all levels of the university, intensive efforts are being made to tackle the challenges that genAI creates in our education. My role is to connect these levels, ensuring that university and faculty policies align closely with the practices within the departments.
- Implementation of the revised (senior) university teaching qualifications (BKO and SKO): Within the faculty, the training for the BKO became more flexible and the assessment is more focused on continuous development. I am also the secretary to the faculty's teaching qualifications assessment committee. For more information, see the faculty pages about the and .
- Teacher information on the intranet: Information for teachers has been updated and restructured from existing manuals, web pages and shared folders of our three educational institutes. It can now be reached via the .
- Faculty Teacher Awards: I enthusiastically serve annually as the secretary to the jury for the Geosciences Teacher Awards, where I have made the procedure more transparent and better aligned with the university-wide teacher awards.

In addition to my responsibilities as a policy officer, I also serve as the for Geosciences students. In this role, I listen to both the student and the lecturer to explore how we can resolve the issue at hand and identify what our organization can learn from this specific complaint.
Before this I provided education as a coordinator academic competences at the bachelor's programme in Computer Science at the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam. There I obtained my SKO and enjoyed leading various educational innovation projects, for example on the use of a digital portfolio or the use of applications such as FeedbackFruits for peer review.
