My research deals with climate ethics and with questions concerning justice and responsibility, in particular personal responsibilities in situations of (practically) infinite moral demands. I have an early-stage research project on the justification of disruptive political protest and civil disobedience. I teach ethics, political philosophy and the history of philosophy.

Together with my colleagues Yara Al Salman, Maurits de Jongh and Jos Philips, I coordinate a project on ethics for civil servants, civil servant dissent and civil servant activism. For this project, we work together with the Dialoog en Ethiek programme of the national government.

I am currently the ‘managing director’ of the Ethics Institute and community lead for the impact theme ‘Ecological in/justice’ of the Network for Environmental Humanities.
