Niels Bosma is full professor Social Entrepreneurship and Head of Department with Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 School of Economics, and member of the programme team with Institutions for Open Societies. He holds a PhD in Economic Geography, obtained at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and an MSc degree in Econometrics (木瓜福利影视 of Groningen). Before moving to Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Niels was affiliated to London Business School, EIM Business and Policy Research (now part of the Panteia group), Erasmus 木瓜福利影视 Rotterdam and the Tinbergen Institute.
Niels is particularly interested in individuals鈥� entrepreneurial and innovative behaviour in regional and social contexts and has several publications in leading academic journals. He is also cofounder and coordinator of the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 Social Entrepreneurship Initiative and was a member of GECES, an expert group advising the European Commission on activities related to the Social Business Initiative.
Niels is currrently Member of the Board of Directors and Senior Research Advisor with the (GEM). He has also been GEM's research director and has co-authored various GEM Global Reports between 2006 and 2021.
