Mohammed Hardan is a journalist and human rights researcher who reports on the Middle East for several media outlets in both Arabic and English. I hold a master鈥檚 degree in journalism, where my thesis focused on the political economy of citizen journalism in war conditions: The exploitation by media institutions of citizen journalists in Syria. I spoke on the rights of citizen journalists in Syria at the 20th LSE Media Futures Conference in London. I am currently pursuing my PhD at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. My research examines the role of citizen journalism in transitional justice, with a focus on how documenting war crimes and human rights violations can advance truth-telling and accountability in post-conflict societies.
