I am an assistant professor of Spatial Planning at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. I teach on land and real estate development and serve as the director for the master鈥檚 programme Spatial Planning. I am also a visiting professor at the School of Cities of the 木瓜福利影视 of Toronto.
My research is focused on the institutional arrangements for land and real estate development. I have a keen interest in the workings and impact of contracts, public-private partnerships, and public accountability relative to city building and urban transitions. My work has been published in journals such as International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Planning Theory and Practice, Policy Sciences, and Urban Studies, and I coauthored the book Neighbourhoods for the Future: A Plea for a Social and Ecological Urbanism (trancityxvaliz).
I completed my Ph.D. in Political Science at the 木瓜福利影视 of Antwerp in 2015. I hold Master鈥檚 degrees in Public Administration (2011) and Spatial Planning (2010) from Radboud 木瓜福利影视 Nijmegen. Previously, I worked at the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视鈥檚 Urban Futures Studio, and the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam.
