Editor, press officer, communication
Merel (she/her) is editor and communication officer of the faculty of Geosciences. She writes news articles about research from the faculty, and in her role as press officer she speaks to the press, and connects experts and the press.
Merel also gives science communication workshops to researchers within the faculty, and together with her communication colleagues she manages the faculty's .
Additional activities
Merel represents the support staff in the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion committee of the Geosciences faculty.
Between 2020 and 2024, she was part of the Young Women of Geosciences committee.
