I work as a program maker, moderator, and trainer for Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, at the office for Public Engagement. I also write articles for the Studium Generale and Illuster websites. Everything I do is about connecting social issues to academic research and vice versa, which suits someone who is curious and interested in many different topics. I draw inspiration for the topics I address in my work from conversations with people, news articles, podcasts, and doom-scrolling sessions on various social media platforms. It can go in any direction, recently created programs about the ideology of techbros, hormones, online radicalization, narcissism, and the history of the stigma surrounding AIDS. I also really enjoy working with the Queer Film Festival Utrecht, where we organize an annual film screening and Q&A with an academic. I enjoy collaborating with academic on shaping their story for a broad audience, which is why I guide them in the process leading up to various projects of the Public Engagement Office, such as the Betweter Festival and Weekend of Science.
