I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and part of the graduate school of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS).
In 2020, I obtained my BSc in Social Sciences from the 木瓜福利影视 of Cologne, followed by my MSc in Sociology and Social Research at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 in 2022.
My PhD project is part of a larger program within the Dutch National Science Agenda, aimed at strengthening the economic resilience of women. During the first three years of my research, I used register data to study the characteristics of women without paid employment or social benefits in the Netherlands, examined the mental health of female and male homemakers, and analyzed the volunteer work of housewives using Swiss household panel data. I am currently focusing on explaining why housewives in the Netherlands do not have paid employment.
