Koen Hoogendoorn is a PhD candidate at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 within the NWO Gravitation programme where he examines how local histories can help communities prepare for crises such as pandemics, natural disasters, and political violence. Drawing on an interdisciplinary background in law and history, his research focuses on the relationship between the past, resilience, and policy. Alongside his doctoral research, he is affiliated with the , where he contributed to the report , published a paper on , and is currently involved in a new project on , for which he is writing a historical study covering 150 years of Dutch Drug Policy (forthcoming 2026).
