Jasmijn Van Gorp is a Senior Lecturer of Audiovisual Heritage and Digital Culture. She received her BA and MA in Communication Sciences from KULeuven (Belgium) and her PhD in Social Sciences from the 木瓜福利影视 of Antwerp (Belgium). Prior to her current position, she held a visiting scholar position at the program at MIT (Boston) and a senior researcher position at the project of the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam.

Jasmijn is the co-founder of the , an integrated digital research infrastructure for audiovisual heritage in the Netherlands. Her research interests include AI-techniques (a.o. ASR), digital humanities, creative methods and digital archives. 

In the field of education, Jasmijn's focus is on teaching digital skills, methods and theories. She has co-authored an article on that advocates for integrating critical reflection skills when teaching (the mastering of) digital tools. In addition, Jasmijn has co-authored the for the BA programs of the Faculty of the Humanities. With Christian Olesen she has launched the that aims to train researchers and students in digital skills for audiovisual heritage research.

At Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, Jasmijn coordinates the Specialization Package in Television and Media Culture for the BA Media and Culture. She teaches courses on Digital Television History (BA), and Programming and Curation (MA), and supervises BA and MA theses in film and television studies. In 2025-26 she also teaches the course Media Industries for the CIW program.
