In 2022, I graduated from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 as a veterinarian and have been working at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine ever since, within the Department of Poultry Health. Here, I enthusiastically pursue my passion for poultry health and research. I am currently training to become a specialist with the European College of Veterinary Poultry Science (ECVPS), aiming to achieve a recognized specialization in this field. My work combines practical experience with scientific research and teaching, making it both diverse and rewarding.
A significant part of my role involves conducting research within the department. My main focus is on bacteriology, a fascinating and complex field that is crucial for understanding and controlling poultry diseases. I collaborate closely with my colleagues, Mieke Matthijs and Thijs Manders, with whom I regularly work on projects and prepare publications. Together, our efforts contribute to new insights and practical applications in poultry health.
In addition to my research, I am heavily involved in teaching. I deliver lectures, practicals, and tutorials on poultry health for both bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 students in the veterinary medicine program. Sharing knowledge and inspiring students is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. By integrating theory and practice, I aim to help students build a solid foundation for their future careers in veterinary medicine. My goal is to contribute to a new generation of veterinarians who understand the importance of poultry within livestock farming and public health.
