Dr. Joris Wijnker is a visiting researcher at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences – Department Population Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
PhD 2009 / Registered since 2009 as Specialist Veterinary Public Health (RDVA).
In addition he is serving in the Royal Netherlands Army as brigade-veterinarian with the Operational Support Command Land and with the NATO C2 Centre of Excellence.
Joris is the chairman of the , which is established to train and educate first responders and other people involved in providing first aid to animals in crisis situations.
Joris was the initiator of the , a research project focussing on the application of assistance dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD.
