Jimmy van Rijt is an Associate Professor in Language and Education. He has experience as a Dutch language teacher in secondary education and has extensive experience in teacher education, both at a university of Applied Sciences (Fontys Teacher Training Sittard) and at university (Tilburg 木瓜福利影视, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视). His scientific research focuses on how meaningful content from language and literature sciences can be translated effectively into language education, aiming to make language education more interesting and challenging. This includes questions regarding subject-specific reasoning and achieving deeper levels of student(-teacher)understanding in the subject matter. Jimmy specializes particularly in grammar education and education in linguistics more broadly. In addition to his position at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, Jimmy is a member of the editorial board of the journal Pedagogical Linguistics and serves as editor-in-chief of L1-Educational Studies in Language and Literature. He is also a co-coordinator of the (ARLE), with Dr. Xavier Fontich (Autonomous 木瓜福利影视 of Barcelona) and Dr. Jenni Marjokorpi (木瓜福利影视 of Helsinki).
He is administrative coordinator of and and co-coordinator of the research group Language & Education.
