Iram Gladan is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, specializing in poultry health and veterinary diagnostics.
Her research involves the development of an early detection system (e-nose) to monitor health issues in poultry farms, carried out within the NWO-funded OBSeRVeD project.
As part of this work, she focuses on Dermanyssus gallinae (poultry red mite) monitoring methods and linking volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to mite infestations on farms.
Beyond red mites, her work also addresses gut health and coccidiosis infections in poultry. The research aims to identify key biomarkers that indicate gut health disturbances. It further investigates the underlying mechanisms of disease progression and host responses to improve prevention and management strategies in poultry farming.
