Hannah Bard MSc

PhD Candidate
Wave-dominated Coastal Morphodynamics

Hannah completed her BSc in Flood and Coastal Engineering and MSc in Coastal Engineering in the UK and has since worked in consultancy in a mixture of coastal modelling, business cases, and engineering design projects with a growing focus on Nature Based Solutions projects including saltmarshes and oyster reefs. She is currently a PhD candidate as part of the Future Flood Risk Management technologies for rivers and coasts program and will be looking into methods to stabilize saltmarshes and tidal flats. This will consist of laboratory and field experiments to look at mud nourishment, biodegradable structures, and aquaculture such as oyster beds to reinforce the saltmarshes and tidal flats. The project is led by Prof. Dr. Tjeerd Bouma and Dr Timothy Price.
