Rianne van den Ham (she/her) was trained as a pharmacist and epidemiologist and holds a PhD in pharmacoepidemiology. She is currently working as an assistant professor in the field of access to medicines at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, and as managing director of the Utrecht WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation. Her research and teaching are driven by a strong motivation to improve access to affordable, safe, and effective medicines worldwide.
Her main areas of focus include selection of essential medicines, pharmaceutical pricing policies, indicators for measuring access to medicines, cross-country collaborations and transparency in the pharmaceutical sector.
Alongside her research activities, Rianne teaches in both the Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy programmes, as well as in the interdisciplinary Bachelor's programme Zorg, Gezondheid en Samenleving. Her teaching covers topics such as public health, health systems, and access to medicines. She is committed to bridging research and education, integrating real-world challenges into academic training.
Rianne also coordinates the HTA research Network, a collaborative research programme between Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) and the Dutch Health Care Institute (Zorginsituut Nederland). Additionally, she serves as Associate Editor of Phamacoepidemiology and Drug Safety.
