Gonzalo Larrea is an assistant professor at the International and European Law Department of the Utrecht School of Law. He specializes in international and European law, sustainability law, regulatory law, and climate change.

Gonzalo鈥檚 research delves into cutting-edge subjects of economics, regulation, and sustainability, exploring the governance frameworks aimed at mobilizing climate finance within the EU and globally, the standard of care to protect human rights and the environment during the implementation of climate projects, or the compatibility of competition rules with agreements between competitors to promote sustainability goals.

Prior to joining Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, Gonzalo taught courses in international, European, and environmental law at Pompeu Fabra 木瓜福利影视 and the 木瓜福利影视 of Barcelona and worked as a Research Assistant at King鈥檚 College London. He is also a qualified lawyer and has previously worked as an associate for a prominent law firm in Barcelona.

Gonzalo holds LL.Ms from King鈥檚 College London (Transnational Law, summa cum laude), and the European 木瓜福利影视 Institute (Comparative and International Law), as well as a PhD from the European 木瓜福利影视 Institute supervised by Prof. Joanne Scott and fully funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Gonzalo speaks Spanish, English, Basque, Italian and French.
